Financial Aid Options at Ultimate Health School (UHS)

UHS currently does not participate in the Federal Student Financial Aid Title IV programs at this time. However, the institution has a wide variety of options including institutional grants, student loans, and cash payment plans available to its students. The following programs are available.

UHS Institutional Grant

Program Awards are $1000 – $3000 depending on eligibility.

The UHS Institutional Grant Program is designed to support students pursuing a Practical Nursing program at Ultimate Health School (UHS) by providing financial assistance based on income eligibility and dependency status. The grant program aims to reduce the financial barriers to education and support students in achieving their career goals in healthcare. The awards are distributed over the three terms of the program, ensuring sustained support throughout the duration of study.

Award Categories and Amounts

Eligible students may qualify for one of three award levels, based on household income, dependency status, and public assistance participation. Awards are applied evenly across the three terms of the program.

  1. Gold Grant
    • Award Amount: $1,000 per term ($3,000 total)
    • Eligibility: Students with the lowest income levels, as detailed below, or those receiving public assistance (SNAP, TANF, SSI, SDI).
  2. Silver Grant
    • Award Amount: $750 per term ($2,250 total)
    • Eligibility: Students meeting moderate-income thresholds.
  3. Bronze Grant
    • Award Amount: $500 per term ($1,500 total)
    • Eligibility: Students meeting the higher end of the income eligibility guidelines.

Eligibility Criteria

Dependency Status

Eligibility is determined using FAFSA dependency status guidelines:

  • Independent Students: Meet one or more of the following criteria:
    • Born before January 1, 2002.
    • Married.
    • Veteran or active-duty U.S. Armed Forces.
    • Has dependents (children or others) who receive more than half of their financial support from the applicant.
    • Was an orphan, in foster care, or a dependent ward of the court after age 13.
    • Determined to be homeless or at risk of homelessness.
  • Dependent Students: Must provide parent(s)’ financial information.

Income Guidelines

Income eligibility is based on 2023 or 2024 Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) or untaxed income. The table below outlines the income limits for each grant level:

Automatic Qualification

Students receiving public assistance such as TANF, SNAP, SSI, or SDI automatically qualify for the maximum Gold Award regardless of income or household size.

Application Procedures

  1. Complete the UHS Institutional Grant Application:
    • Download and complete the application form available on the UHI website or from the Financial Aid Office.
  2. Provide Documentation:
    • Signed 2023 or 2024 tax return or non-filing statement.
    • Proof of public assistance (if applicable).
    • Additional documents for dependency status, if required.
  3. Submit Application:
    • Email or deliver your completed application and supporting documents to the Financial Aid Office by the posted deadline.
  4. Award Notification:
    • Applicants will be notified of their award status within 14 days of submission.

Terms and Conditions

  • Grants are applied directly to tuition costs at the start of each term.
  • Students must maintain satisfactory academic progress to continue receiving funds for subsequent terms.
  • Changes in enrollment status or eligibility factors may affect grant eligibility.

Edly Career Training Loan Program

UHS has partnered with Edly a private provider of career training loans.  Edly Income-Based Repayment (IBR) Loans are designed for students pursuing certification or career

training in fields including computer coding, cybersecurity and allied health. Edly IBRs offer a range of

flexible repayment options, and students can qualify in minutes via the Edly website.

Students make fixed payments while in school (as low as $10/month), with post-completion payments based on a percentage of the student’s income.

UHS Institutional Loan

The institution offers an institutional loan program with repayment terms up to 30 months.   Students opting to pay their program costs over periods greater than 12 months can request an institutional loan.  Terms are as follows:

  1. Interest rate is 6.70% 
  2. Origination and loan set up fee $75.00
  3. Cash Deposit Requirement $2,000 to $3,500 depending on length of loan.
  4. Co-Signer Requirements:
    1. Independent Students who are married must have spouse co-sign
    2. Dependent students must have parent co-sign.
    3. Unmarried Independent student must have a qualified co-signer with an ability to repay.
  5. Students must demonstrate an ability to repay and may be requested to verify source of income to repay the loan.
  6. Loan terms may be set at 12 month, 18 months, 24 months or 30 months.  Your Finance Advisor will assist you in selecting the best terms to fit your budget.

All loans are serviced by a third party agency to ensure the institution remains compliant with Truth in Lending requirements.

Students who may become delinquent or default on the loan are subject to being removed from program or placed into collections with a collection agency which could harm the student’s credit.

Cash Payment Plans

Cash payment plans are available to students who wish to pay off their program costs while in school.  Students electing this option will be not be charged an interest rate and there is a one-time cash plan set-up fee of $75.00.
